13 March 2020

KES College is taking preventive measures to stop the spread of the novel Corona virus (COVID -19)

According to guidelines/recommendations received by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth on the 10th of March 2020, acting preventively against the new corona virus (COVID-19), KES College has suspended its operations up to and including Sunday, March 15, 2020.

A recent announcement by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth on the 11th of March 2020, recommends the extension of the period of suspension for all Education providers up to and including Friday the 20th of March 2020.

The health and wellbeing of students, faculty, staff and partners is the highest priority of KES College. Given this, we are constantly monitoring the current global health situation regarding the novel corona virus (COVID-19).

In light of recent developments, KES College announces that operations are suspended up to and including Sunday the 22nd of March 2020. We assure our students that we intend on continuing with the delivery of course material to ensure educational quality and in order to complete the scheduled academic year. If need be and depending on developments, arrangements will be made to extend the academic semester and re-schedule any lost teaching hours. The exam schedule will be amended and arranged accordingly, within academic regulations.

Students are urged to monitor the e-learning platform of KES College (Moodle) activity closely and diligently. This platform will be updated constantly by lecturers regarding course delivery and College administrators will be posting announcements whenever necessary.

Please note that based on a clarification announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth on the 12th of March 2020, the suspension of operations by all Private Institutions of Tertiary Education refers to conventional in-house course delivery and any activity that requires the physical presence of students on campus. The suspension of operations does not affect the presence of faculty, administration or research staff.

As a result, the previously mentioned categories of staff will be on duty as of Monday 16/03/2020 to carry out their duties as usual. It is important to clarify that basic student services will only be on offer via online means (email, e-platform) or by phone in order to prevent the spread of the virus. There will be no face-to-face interactions between members of our community to protect the health and safety of faculty, staff and students.

KES College is closely monitoring the health crisis and will act accordingly when announcements or updates are necessary.
