The Hotel Industry, which is the central core of the entire tourism industry and at the same time the backbone of the Cyprus and the international economy, consists of a wide variety of organisations and businesses – from large multinational corporations to local, large, medium and / or family.
KES College’s three-year “Hotel Management” programme is aimed at people aspiring to take the lead in the Hotel Industry. The topics covered and the structure of the programme offer all the necessary skills for a successful career in this field.

Program’s purpose and objectives

The Higher Diploma in Hotel Management program is designed to enable students to develop and apply knowledge and skills relating to professional hotel management procedures and demonstrate high level of professionalism in the industry, by providing them appropriate academic and technical skills. Hotel Management Program introduces students to key hotel procedures in every department developing overall management skills. It also introduces students to key operational control systems and the quantitative methods used in their application and evaluation. Those skills will enable students to the current and future needs and challenges of the competitive Hotel Industry.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this programme are expected to:

  • Demonstrate theoretical knowledge and put it into practice to pursue a management career in the Hotel Industry.
  • Critically analyse, evaluate contemporary issues in the Hotel industry, and be able to propose solutions on challenging issues the industry  contributing towards the development of the organization.
  • Distinguish and appreciate the role of diverse departments within Hotel Management and their importance on the smooth operation of the business.

Ms. Irene Lazarou has been the Coordinator of the School of Culinary, Hospitality, and Tourism Studies at KES College since 2025. She holds a degree in Food Science from the Agricultural University of Athens (2005), a Master’s degree in Food Management from the University of Surrey (2010), and an MBA from MIM (2020). She is a certified vocational trainer with several years of teaching experience. She has several years of experience in restaurant chains, focusing on food safety, health and safety, and staff training. As a vocational trainer and industry consultant, she has supported food service and hospitality businesses in quality and food safety standards for operational excellence.

Mr. Adam Lantos is a Lecturer in Statistics at KES College since 2024. He holds a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Edinburgh (2020) and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a minor in Physics from the University of Cyprus (2018).

From 2018 to the present, he has worked as a Theoretical Physics Researcher at DESY Institute in Hamburg (2018), as a Researcher at the Cyprus University of Technology (2020-2023), and as a Risk Analyst at KPMG (2023-2024).

He teaches subjects related to his field, with an emphasis on Statistics.

He has received the following awards and scholarships:

  • Academic Excellence Award, University of Cyprus (2017)

Mrs Athina Konstantinou, is a Lecturer in Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts at KES College since 2024. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the European University of Cyprus (2024), a Bachelor’s Degree in Bakery and Patisserie Technology from University College Birmingham (2022), and a Higher Education Diploma in Culinary Arts from the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (2021). She has worked as a pastry chef in various businesses and hotels, developing intricate desserts and plate presentations. She has received distinctions in various international competitions and has earned several local awards for excellence in pastry and culinary arts. She has also participated in research projects related to culinary arts and food management.

Short CV: Mrs. Artemis Poleou Lazou has 12 years of experience as a Computer & Media Instructor in private institutes and is the managing Director/Owner of a computer private institute (an Approved, Accredited and Licensed ECDL Test Centre for all Levels – Advanced and Standard). 

Graduated from University of Leicester (UK) – BSc Computer Science (2007) and BSc Communication, Media and Society (2010) and completed numerous workshops and training courses, some of which are Computing with Python, Image Editing, Practical Applications & Strategies of Digital Marketing, Search Engines and Marketing for social media.

Mrs. Artemis has been teaching computer modules at KES college since February, 2023.

Short cv: Mr Costas Yerokostas is a Lecturer at KES College from 2005 – May 2016 and October 2017 – present. He holds an MBA and a BSc in Marketing Management from the University of Florida Metropolitan. Between 2016 and 2017 he was employed as a Deputy Academic Director at a higher education institution. He also worked as the Head of the Marketing & Subscriptions Service Department at CreditInfo Cyprus from 2004 to 2008 and at Leptos Group of Companies as a Marketing Executive from 2000 to 2002.

Ms. Elena Siakouri is the Coordinator of the Business Administration Program since 2026 and Lecturer at KES College since 2025. She holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Finance and Investments from Brunel University, London since 2000 and a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Business Administration from the University of Cyprus since 1999. She also holds a Portfolio Management Certification from the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus since 2008.
She has worked in the Banking Sector for 8 years and in Consulting Services companies for 18 years. She has also worked as a Lecturer at Cyprus College for 4 years and participated in many seminars in her field.

Ms. Eleni Pettemeridou is a Lecturer at KES COLLEGE from 2023. She holds a Master Degree in “Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning” (2016) from Open University of Cyprus. She has, also, a Bachelor Degree in “French Language and Literature” (2011) from University of Cyprus. As of 2009, Ms. Pettemeridou teaches adults and kids French language. From 2018, she participates in the program of Ministry of Education for homeschooling. She teaches subjects of her specialty.

She holds an MSc in Food Quality Management from the University of Wagenigen in Netherlands and a Degree in Food Technology from Karditsa Technological Educational Institute in Larissa. She has also received Certificates in Food Safety and Hygiene and contributed to research work by undertaking various surveys. From 2015 she works as an external consultant at Q-Point BV on food quality assurance issues.

Ms. Panagiota Thanasoula has been a Lecturer at KES College since 2024. She holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Product and Service Planning with a specialization in Management from the International Hellenic University (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2013). She is a PhD candidate in Marketing, specializing in Consumer Behavior, at Democritus University of Thrace. Since 2013, she has worked in multinational companies in customer service, handling advertising campaigns and as an insurance advisor. Since 2022, she has been working as a Lecturer and Researcher at academic institutions in Cyprus. She teaches subjects in Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Management.

Koulla Georgiou has been a Lecturer at KES College since October 2025. She holds an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Nicosia(2018), graduating Cum Laude, and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Cyprus (2016). She has significant experience in English language teaching, having worked in private schools and language institutes. Since September 2024, she has been working at GC Institute, where she teaches English to students of various levels. She specializes in preparing students for Cambridge English examinations. At KES College she teaches courses in the Foundation programmes and has also taught modules in the Beauty Therapy and Beauty Therapy Units Management and the Hotel Management programme of study.

 Dr Nicoletta Thoma has been serving as Senior Lecturer at KES College since October 2025. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Leicester, completed in January 2026. Her doctoral research was supported through funding from the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, the University of Leicester, and the Youth Board of Cyprus. During the course of her studies, she contributed to the edited volume Baigorri J and Elvert J (eds), The European Project’s Modernisation and Governance in a Plural Framework with Shared Values and Goals (Peter Lang 2021). She also holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development and Teaching from the University of Cyprus (January 2014). In addition, she obtained an LLB from the University of Leicester (July 2016) and a BA in Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Cyprus (June 2011). Since 2018, she has been working as a Development Coordinator and Projects Legal Consultant in an international organisation (SAT-7). She also has extensive experience in programmes of the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, in which she has been involved since November 2011. She teaches courses within her field of expertise.

Ms Olvia Kyriakou is a Lecturer at KES College since 2021. She holds Master in Business Administration (with Distinction) in Human Resources from Cardiff Metropolitan University of Wales. She also holds a Bachelor Degree of European University of Cyprus and a Higher Diploma of Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus. Since 2015 she has been working in the hotel industry. From 2017 she worked as a Floor Supervisor Housekeeper for two years at Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol. Then in 2019 at the opening of a new hotel Amara Hotel she worked as a Floor Supervisor Housekeeper and then as a Front Office Receptionist until today. She also has a certificate of attendance Cultural Tourism Specialist based on ISO 17024. She teaches subjects of her specialisation.
